The Strangest Airplane Fuel in the World: Made from "Human Waste"!

The Strangest Airplane Fuel in the World: Made from

A British company has developed revolutionary airplane fuel that is entirely derived from human waste, a pioneering step towards reducing the carbon footprint of aviation. Firefly Green Fuels, based in Bristol, explains that this innovative fuel is the result of a clever process that transforms human waste into a substance known as bio-crude, which shares chemical properties with crude oil. This bio-crude is then processed and converted into kerosene, a common type of airplane fuel. Independent tests have proven that "this new bio-kerosene has a chemical composition almost identical to that of traditional fossil jet fuel, with the crucial distinction that it is free from fossil carbon." The company states that it takes human waste from water treatment and purification companies and places it in a high-pressure reactor, thus obtaining, among other things, "bio-crude" after the refining process.
