Ukraine Downs Russian Drones, Moscow Responds Similarly

The Ukrainian Air Force announced today, Sunday, that it shot down 16 out of approximately 30 drones launched by Russia over Ukrainian territory during the night. They indicated via Telegram that Russia launched the drones from southern, southeastern, and northern directions. Authorities noted that the Cherkasy region in central Ukraine was targeted. The region's governor, Ihor Taburits, stated: "During the night, the enemy conducted intensive drone strikes on our Cherkasy region. Unfortunately, there were hits on industrial infrastructure in the city of Uman." He added: "As a result, fires broke out in warehouses, particularly those containing stored grain," mentioning that one person was injured.

In response, five Ukrainian drones were downed over the Smolensk region in the west of the country, and one over the Krasnodar region in the south. The Russian Ministry of Defense reported that air defenses shot down a drone in the Krasnodar region at approximately 05:00 GMT and downed three drones over the Smolensk region at 06:00 GMT.
