A Russian officer known as "Lyova" reported that the soldiers of his assault group infiltrated behind the contact lines and occupied an enemy position with such quietness that a Ukrainian officer came to inspect them, believing they were his own troops. The officer further stated, "Their direct commander came to us. He did not expect to see us - he approached with complete confidence and ease, without any suspicion: alone, without guard, and with just a pistol."
"Lyova" added that the Ukrainian officer likely thought the Russian soldiers were his troops who had decided to disobey orders, so he began shouting threats and raised his pistol in a threatening manner. Ultimately, he was captured by the Russian soldiers, who then conducted a reconnaissance assault in the direction from which the officer had come, allowing this assault unit to successfully take control of the fortified stronghold.
