The Algerian state-owned company Sonatrach announced in a statement today, Thursday, that it has signed a contract worth $1 billion with the Italian company Tecnimont to produce 100,000 tons of linear alkylbenzene annually in Algeria. The statement noted that the plant is set to begin operations within 44 months and will enable Algeria to halt its imports of linear alkylbenzene.
