Biden: The U.S. Military Will Conduct Airdrops of Aid to Gaza

U.S. President Joe Biden announced on Friday that the U.S. military will carry out airdrops of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip in the coming days, and that Washington will do everything possible to deliver more assistance to the area. He added that the flow of aid to Gaza is insufficient and expressed his desire for hundreds of additional aid trucks to enter. White House spokesman John Kirby stated that the airdrop operations will become a "sustained effort." He mentioned that the first batch of the airdrop will likely consist of ready-to-eat meals, noting that "it won't be just a one-time event." The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs reported that 576,000 people in the Gaza Strip, which is a quarter of the population, are just one step away from famine.
