American media reported that "about 30 protesters supporting the Palestinian cause infiltrated the hotel where President Joe Biden was staying in San Francisco, calling for a ceasefire in Gaza." Earlier, Biden had met with the widow and daughter of opposition figure Alexei Navalny at the Fairmont Hotel.
The protest group mingled with hotel guests before using a loudspeaker to chant as Biden was scheduled to leave, shouting, "Biden, Biden, you can't hide, we accuse you of genocide." They displayed a banner that read: "Stop funding genocide, halt all U.S. aid to Israel."
