Moroccan Minister of Tourism Fatima Zahra Amour noted that "the Moroccan tourism sector is experiencing a recovery that has exceeded government expectations, reaching 14.5 million tourists in 2023, an increase of one million tourists from the expected figure." The minister added in a presentation before a committee in the House of Representatives, "Reaching this number also means a 34 percent increase compared to 2022, and 12 percent compared to 2019." Additionally, tourism revenues increased by 12 percent to 105 billion dirhams ($10.3 billion), up from 93.6 billion dirhams in 2022.
