Bohhabib Continues Meetings in New York and Discusses the Return of Displaced Persons with Cypriot Counterpart

The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants in the caretaker government, Abdullah Bohhabib, continued his participation in the United Nations General Assembly proceedings in New York. He met with Cyprus's Foreign Minister, Konstantinos Kombos, where both sides discussed the best ways to cooperate on the issue of displacement, agreeing on the necessity of finding sustainable solutions for displaced individuals in their home countries.

Bohhabib also met with Syrian Deputy Foreign Minister Bassam Sabbagh, where they discussed preparations for an anticipated visit to Syria and how to assist displaced persons in returning to their country, alongside ensuring appropriate material and developmental conditions for that return.

Following this, Bohhabib held a meeting with Qatar's Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Mohammed Abdulaziz bin Saleh Al-Khulaifi, who briefed him on the latest meeting of the quintet committee in New York and reiterated Qatar's readiness to provide all possible assistance to Lebanon.

Additionally, Bohhabib spoke with Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani, exchanging ideas on the best ways to coordinate the two countries' positions on migration and asylum policies, in preparation for the annual conference scheduled to be held in Rome in early November for Mediterranean countries.

In conclusion, Bohhabib attended a reception hosted by UAE Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan in honor of the delegations participating in the United Nations General Assembly proceedings in New York.
