Ismail Haniya, the head of the political bureau of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), held Israel responsible for the lack of progress in reaching a ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip in a statement on Saturday. He said, "The resistance will not accept anything less than a complete halt to the aggression, the withdrawal of the occupation army from the Strip, the lifting of the unjust blockade, the provision of safe and suitable shelter for the displaced and homeless due to the occupation's crimes, the return of the displaced, especially to northern Gaza, the cessation of the barbaric starvation policy, and the commitment to reconstruction."
