Houthis: Attacks on Ships Heading to Israel Will Continue

Mohamed Abdel Salam, the spokesperson for the Houthis, confirmed to Reuters today, Wednesday, that "the classification of the Yemeni movement as a terrorist group by the United States will not affect its operations in the Red Sea." He stated that operations "will continue in the Red Sea to prevent Israeli ships and those heading to Israel from passing through the Red Sea, the Arabian Sea, and Bab al-Mandab." American officials indicated that the Biden administration has today re-listed the Iranian-allied Houthi group as a "terrorist organization," in the latest attempt by Washington to halt Houthi attacks on international shipping in protest of the Israeli bombardment of Gaza.
