Data from the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics in Egypt showed the value of Egyptian car imports from BRICS countries. According to the data, India topped the list of countries from which Egypt imported, with a value of 21 million and 353 thousand dollars, followed by imports of cars, tractors, and motorcycles from South Africa amounting to 5 million and 951 thousand dollars. The data indicated that Egypt's imports of Chinese cars and tractors reached 444 thousand dollars, and finally, imports of Russian cars amounted to 73 thousand dollars.
Overall, the trade exchange value between Egypt and BRICS countries increased to 31.2 billion dollars in 2022, compared to 28.3 billion dollars in 2021, with a growth rate of 10.5 percent. The value of Egyptian exports to BRICS countries rose to 4.9 billion dollars in 2022, up from 4.6 billion dollars in 2021, reflecting an increase of 5.3 percent. Conversely, the value of Egyptian imports from BRICS countries reached 26.4 billion dollars in 2022, compared to 23.6 billion dollars in 2021, marking an increase of 11.5 percent.
