Iran stated today, Tuesday, that it launched ballistic missiles at targets in Iraq and Syria "in defense of its sovereignty and security as well as to confront terrorism." The spokesperson for the Foreign Ministry, Nasser Kanani, indicated that "Tehran respects the sovereignty of other countries and their territorial integrity, but at the same time it exercises its legitimate and legal right to deter threats to national security." Kanani added that "after the enemy miscalculated by targeting the Islamic Republic, Iran responded with its high intelligence capabilities through a precise and targeted operation against the perpetrators."
