Turkey was shaken by a murder case in the Turkish city of Istanbul, which sparked outrage among human rights organizations in the country, particularly those advocating for women. This followed the murder of a woman and her three children by her husband, who attempted suicide after committing the crime, according to local media reports.
The local website "Hürriyet" reported that a Turkish young man named Özgür Nayman killed his wife, Sivelay, and their three children inside the family's apartment on the third floor of Yukşebaşı Street in the Beyoğlu district of Istanbul. According to Turkish media accounts, the young man shot his wife and children, prompting neighbors to call the police after hearing gunfire.
Although medical teams attempted to save the wife and her three children, they all died despite the doctors' efforts. The Turkish husband, who killed his wife and three children, later attempted suicide but survived after also shooting himself. According to "Hürriyet," he is still receiving treatment in the intensive care unit of a hospital in Istanbul.
The reasons behind the man's decision to eliminate his family have not yet been revealed, although media indicated that there were disputes between him and his wife. The perpetrator had posted on the social media platform "X" shortly before committing his crime, indicating that he was experiencing emotional disappointments.
In his tweet, he stated that he would test real death for the first and last time in his life, adding, "I feel extremely bored with everything, and it seems meaningless now. I will die eventually, either today or tomorrow. Since I love my wife and children very much, I want to save them from this fake world. I will bother my loved ones and those who love me for the last time."
