Haaland Returns to Manchester City Squad Against Burnley After Foot Injury

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola announced on Tuesday that "forward Erling Haaland will finally return to the team's lineup when they face Burnley tomorrow, Wednesday, in the English Premier League." Haaland is currently tied for the top scorer in the Premier League this season with Mohamed Salah from Liverpool, both having 14 goals. However, the Norwegian has been absent from matches since suffering a crack in a bone in his foot on December 6 during a 1-0 loss to Aston Villa. Guardiola told reporters: "It is clear he will be among the selections; yes, he has returned for the first time (since his injury). Our entire roster is ready, and we are stronger; he is an important player for us." Haaland's return could be pivotal for the defending Premier League champions, who currently sit in second place, five points behind leaders Liverpool and have played one match less. City also has upcoming matches in the Champions League and the FA Cup in February. The 23-year-old Norwegian has scored 19 goals in 22 matches across all competitions this season.
