The Israeli website "Walla" reported that following strikes from Lebanon that hit infrastructure at the airbase on Mount Meron in northern Israel, officers in the Israeli army spoke today about the increasing state of alert in response to Hezbollah's attacks on the Israeli Air Force's military infrastructure in the region. According to "Walla," one officer stated, "We cannot move the mountain, and on the other hand, we cannot increase defenses in the area to protect military activities; there are limitations." The officers revealed that the Israeli Air Force has made improvements to the defenses on the mountain, which have proven effective, noting, "The fact that there were no significant damages and no soldiers were injured yesterday is a result of correct thinking and renewed readiness against the threat of anti-tank missiles in direct preparedness."
In contrast, the Israeli Air Force has increased efforts to locate Hezbollah cells in southern Lebanon from which missiles are being launched. Preparations include an increase in intelligence gathering and cooperation with the northern command. An Air Force officer explained, "There is no 100% defense. The important thing is that no soldiers were injured and the efficiency of the Israeli army was not compromised." He continued, "And if they continue firing, they will continue to suffer damage to critical infrastructure."
