Residents of the Ashrafieh area have complained about the ongoing water outages from their homes for more than a month, forcing them to incur high costs to buy water amid difficult living conditions. They renewed their plea for the Dhour Water Authority to resume water supply, which had been scarce to begin with, but has completely stopped for the past two weeks, compelling residents to purchase water at a cost of $40 per tank.
Local residents stated that "water supply was already scant, but it stopped entirely a month ago." Despite numerous pleas directed at the concerned authorities, their calls have gone unanswered. Officials justify this situation by citing power outages, fuel shortages to operate generators, water scarcity during the summer, as well as breakdowns affecting the pumping stations and pipes.
