The Lebanese Golf Club organized the annual Veterans Cup golf tournament on its courses in the Jnah area on Saturday, July 22, 2023. The event featured 19 players competing for four hours in a spirited atmosphere using the net scoring system. The results were as follows:
**Age Group 50-65 (18 Holes):**
1. Sheikh Moussa Al-Zein - 69 points
2. Ghaleb Al-Atat - 72 points
3. Jumana Hamzeh - 72 points
**Age Group 66-75 (18 Holes):**
1. Ibrahim Mubarak - 70 points
2. Saeb Matraji - 73 points
3. Ghasan Hamzeh - 73 points
**Age Group 76 and above (9 Holes):**
1. Youssef Dabboul - 40 points (with reverse counting advantage)
2. Ramzi Alameddine - 40 points
3. Bassam Jojou - 40 points
A ceremony was held for the distribution of trophies and shields presented by club member Ibrahim Mubarak, who also hosted a gathering in honor of the attendees, including the club president and head of the Lebanese Golf Federation Karim Slim Salam and Golf Committee Chairman Rashid Aql, along with the tournament participants. Salam congratulated the winners and expressed hope for continued sporting activities at the club, particularly golf, as these events serve as a beacon of optimism and unity for all Lebanese, promoting stability and peace across Lebanon. Afterward, a shield of gratitude was presented to Mubarak and another shield to Ramzi Alameddine, the former club secretary for being the oldest participant.
