Killing of 12 Turkish Soldiers in Clashes with Kurdish Militants

The Turkish Ministry of Defense announced today, Saturday, that "12 Turkish soldiers were killed in the past two days in clashes with members of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) in northern Iraq." It stated in a message on X that "the army carried out airstrikes on PKK targets, resulting in the neutralization of at least 13 of its fighters today in ongoing clashes." Turkey commonly uses the term "neutralized" to refer to killings. The Ministry added that "seven militants were killed yesterday, Friday."
