The Maronite Patriarch Bechara Raï met with the Greek Ambassador to Lebanon, Despina Kokoulopoulou, today, Tuesday, in a protocol visit at the patriarchal headquarters in Bkerke. During the meeting, she expressed her "happiness to meet Raï." The discussion covered the situation in Lebanon and the region, where she noted his "awareness of current events and his love for the Lebanese people and Lebanon's interests." She also wished for "more resilience" for the Maronite Church on the occasion of St. Maroun's Day. The patriarch also received the former Lebanese Ambassador to the Vatican, retired General George Khoury. Additionally, a delegation from Tripoli visited, which included Sheikh Malek Al-Shaar, former minister Mohammad Safadi, and the Maronite Bishop of Tripoli, Michael Souef.
