Australian Fisherman and Missing MH370: New Revelations

More than nine years have passed since the tragedy of the Malaysian airplane that disappeared off the southern coast of Australia on March 8, 2014, with authorities having reached no information about its fate or even finding any debris. However, an experienced Australian fisherman has revealed new information. Retired fisher Kate Olver claimed he found a large piece of the wing from the missing Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 while sailing in deep waters in 2014, just months after the plane's disappearance.

He stated, "I wish I had not seen this thing. But it is what it is; it was the wing of the plane." The 77-year-old man also mentioned that he could provide Australian authorities with the coordinates of the location where he discovered the wing after more than nine years. He explained that his motive for revealing this information now stems from a desire to assist the families of the victims who were on that ill-fated flight.

Additionally, he noted that he contacted the Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA) as soon as he returned to port many years ago, but the authorities did not show any interest in his discovery, according to Australian media reports. In contrast, one Australian official suggested that the man likely found a part of a shipping container that fell from a Russian ship in the area. Olver found what he claimed was the plane's wing about 55 kilometers west of Robe, a fishing area in South Australia.

It is worth mentioning that the search for the missing airplane in the southern Indian Ocean, where it is believed to have crashed, concluded without any information being found. This search, conducted jointly by Australia, Malaysia, and China, cost 200 million dollars.
