In a country like Lebanon, it is unknown how strife can exploit these conditions and spread like wildfire, making it difficult to contain later on.
However, despite these pressures, a security source emphasized through the "Akhbar Al-Yawm" agency that all security agencies are fully aware of the critical phase and the dangers of the situation, which is influenced by multiple internal and external factors, in addition to social and economic tensions. Therefore, they are fully prepared to intervene swiftly to prevent the development of any conflicts. The source explained that all security agencies are currently operating at full capacity on several fronts, addressing individual or familial conflicts that are usually well-known and identifiable. Nevertheless, the more challenging and dangerous aspect concerning security agencies is related to terrorism, organized crime, or sectarian incitement, where groups or organizations often try to capitalize on any political authority weakness, considering it an opportune time to strike, especially in a country like Lebanon.
Regarding terrorism, the source disclosed that security agencies do not show leniency and are working on two main lines: immediate operational responses and proactive measures, as evidenced recently when an ISIS-affiliated terrorist cell planning attacks was uncovered.
