The Organization of Islamic Cooperation is holding an extraordinary meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of its member states at the invitation of Saudi Arabia, the current chair of the Islamic Summit, along with Palestine, Jordan, and Iran. The meeting will focus on "the ongoing Israeli assault on the Palestinian people" and will take place at the organization's headquarters in Jeddah next Tuesday, March 5. The Secretary-General of the organization, Hussein Ibrahim Taha, will address the opening session of the meeting, which will be preceded by a preparatory meeting for senior officials at the organization's headquarters on Monday to discuss and adopt the draft agenda and work program and to review the draft resolution before it is submitted to the Council of Foreign Ministers the following day.
