Moscow rejected today, Wednesday, the International Criminal Court's decision to issue arrest warrants for two senior Russian military leaders, considering it a decision not based on facts and having no legal significance for Russia. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated, "Russia is not a party to the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court, and therefore Moscow does not recognize the decision." For her part, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova stated that the decision aims solely to tarnish Russia's reputation. Zakharova said, "The recent false allegations from this institution have no impact on us and are legally insignificant." The International Criminal Court announced yesterday, Tuesday, that it had "issued arrest warrants for Sergey Kobilash and Viktor Sokolov for launching missile strikes on electricity infrastructure in Ukraine."
