A statement from the Egyptian Suez Canal Authority on Sunday revealed that the Suez Canal Economic Zone and Scatec ASA signed a Memorandum of Understanding worth $1.1 billion to supply ships with green fuel. The statement noted that the signing took place during the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP28) in Dubai. It indicated that the MoU stipulates the production of 100,000 tons of green methanol annually by 2027.
