Mudslide Buries a House in Southeast Kazakhstan

A mudslide has engulfed a house inhabited by four people, including two children, in Almaty region in southeast Kazakhstan, amidst rescue operations to extract the victims. According to media reports, the slide caused a mud flow of 3,200 cubic meters in the Tau Samal area. Preliminary data indicates that the landslide occurred due to the saturation of the soil with water from a broken water supply pipe and the flow of water from it. Residents of nearby houses have been evacuated while rescue operations continue to free those trapped.
