Title: Al-Rahi: We Must Adhere to Resolution 1701 to Prevent War from Spreading

Maronite Patriarch Bishara Al-Rahi emphasized the need to adhere to Resolution 1701 to prevent war from spreading to our land. In his Sunday mass sermon, Al-Rahi stated that the Church continues to call for an end to wars and for peace through diplomatic means. He also pointed out that "the budget plan is unjust to the Lebanese people. Is it acceptable to burden citizens with more than they have already endured due to the collapse through arbitrary fees?" Al-Rahi questioned, "How can those drafting the budget overlook tax evasion? This is a result of the absence of a President of the Republic and the unlawful gains made by those obstructing the election of a president."
