Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian is set to arrive in Beirut this morning from Damascus, with his first meeting scheduled with Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri. Sources accompanying the visit indicated to "Nidaa al-Watan" that the objective of the trip concerning Lebanese matters is "to assert that Iran's role is constructive, not destabilizing, and supports internally derived agreed solutions for the presidential file."
The sources added that Abdollahian, who is responsible for the nuclear file, prisoner exchanges between Iran and America, and relations with Saudi Arabia, will present new information, particularly regarding the war in Yemen. Furthermore, the Iranian minister, who met with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman earlier this month, is conducting discussions with "Hezbollah" regarding Yemen, "coming with ideas that the party is expected to respond to, given its ties to the Ansar Allah in Yemen."
In addition, "Al-Joumhouria" noted that Abdollahian is arriving in Beirut for talks with President Berri and Hezbollah's Secretary-General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah. It is rumored that he will participate today in a celebration organized by the Amal Movement in Beirut to commemorate the disappearance of Imam Musa al-Sadr, during which President Berri is expected to deliver a speech described as a roadmap for the upcoming phase.
