The Israeli army announced on Saturday that its forces found openings to tunnels near a school in the Shuja'iyya neighborhood in eastern Gaza City, which were destroyed. In a statement, the army said, "Israeli ground forces found an opening to a tunnel that was part of a large underground route in Shuja'iyya, which was targeted."

It added, "The forces also found an additional tunnel opening that contained an elevator and a cache of weapons, including Kalashnikov rifles and grenades, inside classrooms." The Israeli army confirmed that its forces "continue to carry out operations against Hamas fighters in the north and south of the Gaza Strip, specifically in Khan Younis."

The spokesperson for the Israeli army stated in an official statement on Friday that its forces targeted around 450 Hamas-related objectives in the past 24 hours, by land, sea, and air, resulting in the deaths of several Hamas fighters in Khan Younis.
