The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants expressed deep concern over the shelling that took place in Syria and Iraq, lamenting the casualties and injuries resulting from it, and the violation of the security and sovereignty of the two brotherly countries. In a statement, it mentioned that "this position is principled in response to attacks on any Arab country," noting that it had previously expressed a similar stance regarding violations of the sovereignty and security of the brotherly Jordan, as well as the targeting of American personnel present on its territory. The ministry called for "restraint and respect for the security, sovereignty, and integrity of all countries," and reminded that "Lebanon has previously warned everyone repeatedly about the danger of the war's expansion and the escalation of conflict." It also demanded the necessity of implementing an immediate ceasefire in Gaza as a mandatory step towards de-escalation, aiming to reach a political solution based on the establishment of a Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital, in accordance with relevant United Nations resolutions.
