Jordan's King Abdullah confirmed to French President Emmanuel Macron on Wednesday that stopping the war on Gaza is a top priority and warned that the continuation of the war in the region could lead to an "explosion of the situation."
In a statement from the Royal Palace, the Jordanian monarch told Macron that "the international community must pressure Israel to stop the bombing campaign against civilians in the territory and lift the siege on its population of over two million."
The statement noted that Macron and King Abdullah discussed ways to end the conflict based on a two-state solution. The Élysée Palace revealed that Macron is set to meet today with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi in Cairo.
