His teammate Mohammed Daham doubled the score in the 69th minute, before Shbib Al-Khaldi returned to score his second goal and the third for his country in the 79th minute. Forward Adhabi Shehab concluded the "Blues" four-goal tally in the 81st minute of the match.
With this victory, Kuwait regained its balance after a surprising defeat at home against India by a single goal at the start of their qualifying campaign for the 2026 World Cup and the 2027 AFC Asian Cup, moving up to second place in Group A, surpassing India on goal difference. Meanwhile, the Afghanistan team suffered its second consecutive defeat and remains at the bottom of the group without any points, while Qatar leads the standings with a perfect score of 6 points.
