The Riyadh International Book Fair is set to take place from September 28 to October 7 at King Saud University, under the slogan "An Inspiring Destination," featuring participation from more than 1,800 publishers from 32 countries. This year, the Sultanate of Oman is the "Guest of Honor," showcasing its culture through a dedicated pavilion that hosts books and manuscripts and represents elements of its national culture, along with the presence of notable Omani cultural figures and publishers presenting their latest releases and titles.
The fair's program, organized by the Saudi Literature, Publishing and Translation Commission, includes panel discussions, poetry evenings, theatrical performances, musical concerts, and workshops in various fields of knowledge, featuring a large number of Saudi, Arab, and international intellectuals and writers.
Accompanying the fair is the International Publishers Conference, taking place on October 4, to discuss aspects of the book industry and the challenges faced by publishing houses. The Riyadh International Book Fair is the third book fair held in the Kingdom this year, following the fairs in the Eastern Province and Medina, with a final fair scheduled in Jeddah in December.
