Foiled Attempt to Smuggle a Quantity of Captagon to Cairo

As part of its efforts to combat the smuggling of banned substances through Rafic Hariri International Airport, and despite the cyber attack that targeted the departure and arrival screens at the airport, as well as the baggage inspection system, the Internal Security Forces, in collaboration with the security agencies operating at the airport, including the airport security, General Security, and the Directorate General of Civil Aviation, quickly implemented an alternative plan to prevent any chaos. The inspection unit at the airport continues to thwart attempts to smuggle prohibited items, particularly drugs, as smugglers devise new methods daily to succeed in their operations. In this context, they successfully intercepted an attempt to smuggle approximately ten kilograms of Captagon, which a group of three Syrian nationals was attempting to transport to Cairo last night. They were concealing these prohibited substances in the form of canned food items.
