Agenda for the Upcoming Cabinet Session

The General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers has sent the agenda for the session that President Najib Mikati will call, aiming to inform the ministers of its items in advance. Here is the agenda:

Based on the request of the Prime Minister and in application of paragraph six of Article 64 of the Constitution, which requires prior notification of the President of the Republic regarding the topics included in the Cabinet's agenda and any urgent matters to be discussed, and since the Prime Minister is about to call for a Cabinet session, the draft agenda has been set. Considering that the Cabinet is currently exercising the powers of the President of the Republic in accordance with Article 62 of the Constitution, we hereby present a list of items related to essential, urgent, and emergency topics as detailed in the attached schedule.

1. Request from the Minister of Finance for approval of revenue collection as previously and for the disbursement of expenditures from February 1, 2023, until the issuance of the budget law for 2023 on the basis of the twelfth clause.

2. Draft decree aimed at determining the amount of daily transportation compensation for public sector employees.

3. Draft decree aimed at granting productivity compensation to employees of public administrations and workers in the Employees Cooperative.

4. Draft decree aimed at amending the amount of fixed monthly transportation compensation for military personnel in the army, internal security forces, general security, state security, customs officers, and the Parliament police.

5. Draft decree aimed at reducing customs tariff rates according to the harmonized system (exemption of medicines falling under tariff headings 30.02, 30.03, and 30.04 from customs duties).

6. Draft decree aimed at providing a Treasury grant of 469 billion Lebanese pounds to OGERO to enable it to pay the salaries and wages of its employees for the first half of 2023.

7. Request from the Ministry of Communications for approval to continue operating according to the mechanism in place before the issuance of the general budget law for 2022.
