Security Forces Arrest Drug Dealer in Shweifat

The following statement was issued by the Internal Security Forces Directorate General - Public Relations Division: "As part of the daily follow-up carried out by the Internal Security Forces to reduce various crimes in all Lebanese regions, information was received by the Information Branch regarding an unidentified individual selling drugs along the route between the Shweifat and Haret Hreik areas." It added: "Consequently, the specialized units within the branch began their field and investigative procedures to identify and arrest him. As a result of extensive inquiries and investigations, they were able to identify him as A. R. A. (born in 2003, Lebanese). On August 31, 2023, after careful surveillance, one of the Information Branch patrols arrested him in the act in Haret Hreik while he was selling drugs on an unregistered motorcycle, which was also seized. Upon searching him and the motorcycle, a quantity of cocaine, cocaine base, hashish, and other narcotic substances were discovered in his possession. During interrogation, he confessed to the charges against him regarding the drug trafficking - which he also admitted to using - to a large number of customers along the mentioned route." Legal action was taken against him, and he, along with the seized substances, was referred to the relevant authority in accordance with the directives of the competent judiciary.
