Eli Shirrou, the Chairman of the Poomsae Committee of the Lebanese Taekwondo Federation, was chosen as the Best Referee at the 8th Asian Championship for adults (men and women) in the Poomsae style held in Da Nang, Vietnam. Shirrou earned this distinction following his high-level performance in officiating the matches among dozens of Poomsae referees, and he received the trophy for the best referee in the largest continent in the world. This achievement marks a new milestone for Lebanese taekwondo, particularly for the refereeing body in the country, after significant technical accomplishments in recent years, notably the qualification of champion Leticia Aoun for the upcoming Olympic Games next summer in Paris, France. Upon learning of Shirrou's selection as the best Asian referee, Dr. Habib Zreifeh, the President of the Lebanese Taekwondo Federation, contacted Shirrou to congratulate him on this achievement, wishing him and the Lebanese referees continued brilliance and success in international events.
