British King Charles returned home yesterday, Monday, after undergoing scheduled treatment in a hospital. The 75-year-old Charles, who spent three nights at the London Clinic after undergoing a "corrective procedure" for prostate enlargement, smiled and waved to crowds as he left the hospital accompanied by his wife Camilla.
Just a few hours earlier, Kate also returned home after spending two weeks in the same hospital following abdominal surgery. Buckingham Palace stated in a statement that Charles, whose wife Camilla visited him daily during his stay, wishes to thank his medical team and all those who supported him during his time in the hospital. The palace added, "The King left the hospital on Monday afternoon after undergoing planned medical treatment and has resumed planning his upcoming public engagements to allow for a period of recovery."
Kate's office at Kensington Palace announced that the Princess of Wales, 42, the wife of the heir to the British throne, Prince William, is making "good progress" and has returned to her home in Windsor. Kate underwent surgery for a non-cancerous condition that has not been disclosed at the London Clinic earlier this month.
Typically, members of the British royal family do not disclose details about their health conditions as private matters. However, Charles was keen to share details about his condition to encourage men experiencing symptoms of this disease to get medical check-ups.
