Title: Bou Habib: We Demand Indirect Negotiations with Israel

The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants in the caretaker government, Abdullah Bou Habib, affirmed that "stopping the fighting in southern Lebanon is difficult due to ongoing Israeli threats." Bou Habib, in an interview with "Sky News Arabia," called for the implementation of Security Council Resolution 1701 and the demarcation of borders with Israel. He added, "Israel can build a wall on the border with Lebanon after the borders are demarcated," noting that "if the firing stops in Gaza, the escalation in southern Lebanon will also stop." Bou Habib continued: "Israeli attacks on Lebanon must cease before we begin demarcating the borders," stating, "We demand indirect negotiations with Israel to resolve contentious points." He also pointed out that "the international community insists on a two-state solution, but there is Israeli rejection."
