Data from Google Trends, which tracks and identifies the most searched trends and topics on Google, indicates that Ukraine is not among the top ten most searched topics for 2023. The data shows that the conflict in Gaza occupies the first position on the list. In addition to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, among the top ten searched topics this year are news related to the deep-sea submersible that exploded near the site of the Titanic wreck, the earthquake in Turkey, three hurricanes in the United States and Canada, shooting incidents in the U.S. states of Maine and Tennessee, India's Chandrayaan-3 probe landing on the moon, and the war in Sudan. Last year, the conflict in Ukraine held the top position on the list of most searched topics. Recent Western media reports increasingly note that Ukraine has receded to the background amid the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, and that Kyiv is losing media interest alongside a decline in support from its allies.
