Iraq and Iran Discuss the Establishment of a Border Industrial City

The Iraqi Deputy Minister of Trade, Star Jabir Al-Jaberi, discussed with the head of the Iranian Light Industries and Industrial Cities Organization, Farshad Maqimi, the establishment of a shared border industrial city between the two countries. Key topics of discussion included the creation of a joint industrial city, the presence of Iranian economic activists and production units in Iraqi industrial cities, and inviting Iranian investors to participate in an upcoming investment conference to be held in Iraq.

The Iraqi Deputy Minister emphasized benefiting from Iran's experience in the field of industrial cities for the growth and development of industry in Iraq, stating, "There is room for the presence of both the public and private sectors from Iran in Iraq, and there are new horizons for development based on previous experiences and the shared capabilities of the two countries."

Al-Jaberi added, "In the joint committee between Iran and Iraq over the past few days, we have followed up on the joint memorandums and agreements, including the establishment of the joint border industrial city." He also noted, "We have taken into account the advantages and incentives for the presence of Iranian production activists in Iraqi industrial cities, especially in the Wasit industrial city."
