Chelsea Football Club announced on Sunday the dismissal of head coach Graham Potter after the team's ranking in the Premier League dropped to 11th place. The club stated in a statement that Graham agreed to cooperate with the club to facilitate a smooth transition, and Bruno Saltor will temporarily take over the team's coaching responsibilities. The club thanked Graham for all his efforts and contributions and wished him success in the future.
Potter joined Chelsea amid the new ownership last September after leaving Brighton & Hove Albion, but the English manager lasted only 31 matches, winning 12 of them before the club's owners decided to dismiss him today. His last match with the team was a 2-0 home defeat against Aston Villa on Saturday. Potter faced criticism for failing to get the best out of a team that was strengthened during the transfer windows, as owners Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital spent over €600 million ($650.76 million) to acquire new players.
