Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia' al-Sudani has directed a comprehensive investigation into the criminal attack on the Salah al-Din resort. A statement from the Security Media Cell indicated that "the commander-in-chief of the armed forces, Prime Minister Mohammed Shia' al-Sudani, has instructed security agencies to open a thorough investigation into the criminal attack on the Salah al-Din resort in Erbil province, where a drone targeted a location housing units of the Kurdistan Region Guard at 7:30 PM on Saturday." The statement further noted that "immediately following the incident, the commander-in-chief of the armed forces ordered a comprehensive security investigation into the criminal act and tasked the security agencies to coordinate with the security forces in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq to follow up on the investigation, aiming to reveal the circumstances and details of the attack in order to reach the necessary conclusions regarding the perpetrators and the motives behind the escalation that impacts national sovereignty and seeks to undermine internal security and stability."
