Youth and Sports Minister George Klass welcomed the President of the Lebanese Muay Thai Federation, Grand Master Sami Qiblawi, in his office, accompanied by a delegation of champions who won at the Mediterranean Championship. Present at the meeting were the Director of Public Relations and Media at the ministry, Hassan Sharara, and the minister's advisor, Raji Labaki. This gathering was held in appreciation of the remarkable achievements in the championship, where Lebanon secured fourth place overall among 21 participating countries, and the national anthem was played five times.
Minister Klass praised the efforts of the Lebanese Muay Thai Federation, including its president, members, and coaches. He congratulated the athletes for their personal efforts, which led to them winning five gold medals, eight silver medals, and three bronze medals. He appreciated their time, hard work, self-belief, ambitions, and their representation of their country with pride, elevating its name in international sporting events.
The delegation included professional international champions Abdullah Ondash, who is the first Lebanese athlete to achieve two consecutive victories in the ONE Championship, along with Mahmoud Ghandour, Ramadan Ondash, and Ali Faqih. The minister extended his congratulations to the champions, coaches, and the federation for their outstanding results, which brought honor to Lebanon amidst the challenging circumstances faced by the country.
