The Israeli Knesset approved today, Thursday, an addition of 25.9 billion shekels (seven billion dollars) to the budget to help cover the costs of the Gaza war, such as compensation for reserve soldiers and emergency housing for internally displaced persons. A spokesperson for the Knesset stated, "The amendment, which was approved by a majority of 59 members and opposed by 45, increased the 2023 budget to 510 billion shekels (139 billion dollars)."
