The White House announced today that the United States does not want to see an escalation in clashes between Iran and Pakistan. National Security Council spokesperson John Kirby told reporters, "We are monitoring this closely. We do not want to see an escalation in South and Central Asia, and we are in contact with our Pakistani counterparts." Regarding the situation in Gaza, the White House stated, "There will be a Gaza post-conflict and it will not be reoccupied," affirming that "America will continue to work towards achieving a two-state solution." Kirby also mentioned that National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan will meet today with the families of hostages held by the Hamas movement.
Additionally, the White House revealed that "the U.S. conducted further strikes early today on anti-ship missiles held by the Houthis as they were being prepared for launch towards the Red Sea." The U.S. military reported that "American forces conducted strikes on two anti-ship missiles of the Houthis that were being prepared for launch towards the Red Sea."
