The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported today, Friday (1st December 2023), that a headquarters belonging to Iranian factions in the city of Al-Bukamal, Syria, was targeted. The observatory stated in a statement that "a violent explosion occurred within areas under the control of government forces and Iranian factions, resulting from a drone strike likely attributed to U.S. forces, targeting one of the Iranian faction headquarters in the Corniche neighborhood of Al-Bukamal, across the Euphrates River." The observatory added that "there was no information reported about human casualties." Since the start of the Israeli war on Gaza, U.S. warplanes have conducted 9 strikes on positions and vehicles belonging to Iranian factions in Deir ez-Zor, resulting in the deaths of 17 military personnel and injuries to at least 10 others, in addition to the destruction and damage of weapons, munitions, and vehicles.
