Axios reported that "Israel will test a warning system in Ukraine next month," noting that "this system will be more capable than the current missile detection technology, but it cannot stop missiles." Axios mentioned, citing officials in Kyiv and Tel Aviv, that "Israeli military officers have met with their Ukrainian counterparts in Poland several times in recent months to arrange the simulation, which will take place in Kyiv, and if successful, will be expanded to include other Ukrainian cities."
According to a report by the Times of Israel, the "Israeli warning system uses a combination of radar and electro-optical devices to detect the launch of shells, missiles, and drones, classify their size and the threat they pose, and identify vulnerable areas on a map. Residents in these areas receive alerts via smartphones, television, or radio, advising them to seek shelter." Axios quoted sources saying that "the system will need adjustments to account for Ukraine's vast territory compared to Israel and to detect the missiles and drones used by Russian forces, which are more advanced than the missiles used by Palestinians."
