On the anniversary of the August 4 explosion, the families of the martyrs, victims, and injured from the Beirut port blast announced their action plan for next Friday. At around 4 PM, a march will commence from in front of the Fire Brigade under the slogan “For Justice and Accountability, We Continue.” The families of victims, the injured, and the affected will gather there at 5:15 PM, aiming to arrive at the Beirut port near the statue of the emigrant around 6 PM.
The families called for black clothing to be worn on this occasion. In a press conference, the families of the martyrs issued a call to Lebanese people around the world "to stand in solidarity with our cause, which is the cause of every Lebanese who believes in justice," and to organize protest actions in their host countries concurrently with their movement on August 4, marking the third anniversary of the explosion that resulted in hundreds of casualties and thousands of injuries, as well as causing destruction in Beirut.
The families emphasized that the victims are not just numbers, therefore August 4 is not a holiday but a national day of mourning. William Noun, the brother of firefighter martyr Joe Noun, noted during the conference that August 4 is a day for demanding justice. He stated: “We have made international progress on this issue, and we rely on everyone to support us in reaching the full truth and holding those involved accountable.”
He added: “It is incorrect to say that we are being funded by embassies, as each of us has a martyr or victim in the port explosion.” Noun also pointed out that buses will be provided to transport participants from all Lebanese regions.
