The spokesperson for the Tehran Fire and Safety Administration, Jalal Maleki, announced that a severe explosion occurred in an old two-story residential building on Ray Street in southern Tehran, resulting in the death of one person and the injury of nine others. Iranian media reported Maleki stating that the explosion, which took place around 12 PM, destroyed the home and partially damaged a neighboring house. Firefighters are continuing their work at the scene, with the possibility that individuals may be trapped under the rubble. Maleki mentioned that the explosion and the subsequent fire were caused by the storage of flammable materials in the building. He confirmed that a man died in the damaged house, while four men and four women were injured, along with another person in the neighboring building; search efforts are still ongoing.
