Earlier, Al Arabiya reported that sirens sounded in Ashkelon and settlements surrounding Gaza, while the Iron Dome intercepted two rockets launched from the Gaza Strip, according to a statement from the Israeli army. On Friday morning, the Israeli army carried out airstrikes in central Gaza, with Hamas sources revealing that 15 Israeli airstrikes targeted various sites in the area. The Al-Qassam Brigades reported defending against Israeli planes with surface-to-air missiles and ground defenses over Gaza. Sirens later echoed in surrounding settlements, indicating the launch of rockets from the Gaza Strip.
Meanwhile, Washington called for de-escalation. He added, "We emphasize the urgent need for all parties to reduce tensions and prevent further loss of civilian lives, and to cooperate to improve the security situation in the West Bank."
